FOUR greyhounds wearing the pink number-eight rug won at Cranbourne last month, raising $2000 for the McGrath Foundation.
In all the foundation received $51,000 courtesy of the ‘Go The Pink Dog!’ campaign that ran throughout February.
Every time a greyhound wearing the pink number-eight rug won a Victorian greyhound race during February, Greyhound Racing Victoria and Tabcorp donated $500 towards the McGrath Foundation.
Executive director of the McGrath Foundation, Tracy Bevan, was thrilled by the overall success of the ‘Go The Pink Dog!’ campaign.
“I’m just blown away that $51,000 has been raised,” she said.
“The best part is that all the money raised will help fund additional McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as reminding young women about the importance of breast-cancer awareness. “With the pink dogs winning 102 races, it just goes to show that next time you’re at the track, go pink!”
