A HOMESTEAD in Narre Warren North that was heritage listed, was destroyed by fire on Monday night.
Firefighters from Narre Warren North, Narre Warren and Hallam were called out at 11pm to the fire which is being treated a suspicious.
Firefighter Michael Burgess, from the Narre Warren North CFA, said the initial call reported a shrub and grass fire on the western side of Narre Warren North Road, between London Crescent and Ernst Wanke Drive.
“But when firefighters arrived we realised it was a house fire,” he said.
“Firefighters got it under control reasonably quick and were at the scene until 5am on Tuesday.”
The house was vacant at the time of the fire.
Mr Burgess said the cause of the fire was still being investigated.
