EVERY year, members of the Berwick CWA gather to host an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
And this year was no exception, with more than 100 women coming together on Thursday 20 May for a morning tea to raise money for the Cancer Council.
The women raised about $1500 through an entry fee, raffles and trading table, which raised more than half of that alone.
Berwick CWA publicity officer Angela Chalman said everyone had a great time.
“The morning tea ran very smoothly,” she said.
“All the girls really come together and pitch in to raise money for a good cause.”
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the leading fundraiser for the Cancer Council.
Money raised will go towards lifesaving cancer research, prevention programs and support services for over 26, 000 Victorians presently fighting cancer.
The official date is Thursday 27 May, but people can host an event any time during the month of May.
To host your own morning tea, visit www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or phone 1300 65 65 85 to find out how.
