WARNER’S Nurseries in Narre Warren North has been named the best large production nursery in Australia at the 2010 Nursery and Garden Industry Awards.
Managing director of Warner’s Nurseries Michael Warner said the award, which recognises performance and outstanding achievements over the past year, was a testament to team effort at the nursery.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment,” Mr Warner said.
“We have to keep evolving and improving to maintain our position as leaders in horticulture that was established by the pioneering generations.”
Mr Warner attributed the company’s success to a number of factors such as their extensive range of plants, great customer service and a significant focus on sustainability.
Green thumbs run in the family, with nine family members currently among the 28 staff.
Warner’s Nurseries was established in 1914.
The best large production nursery award acknowledges producers with more than 15 full-time employees who display extraordinary business operation with a dedicated staff work ethic.
The Nursery and Garden Industry Awards praise outstanding businesses and individuals within the industry, who have shown excellent business practice over the past 12 months.
The 2010 Nursery and Garden Industry Awards were held in Darwin.
