Cyclist hit,

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident in Berwick on Monday.
A 47-year-old male cyclist, from Fairfield in Queensland, was travelling north along Harkaway Road about 2.10pm when he was struck from behind by a car. He was thrown into the guardrail, suffered serious injuries and was taken to The Alfred hospital.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop.
Senior Constable Allen Inderwisch from the Casey Traffic Management Unit (TMU) urged witnesses to come forward.
“Police are following a number of leads in relation to the driver and the vehicle, however, we are appealing for witnesses to come forward,” he said.
He also urged the driver to do likewise.
“It will be best for he or she to hand themselves in,” he said.
