BESTSELLING author Kim McCosker cooked up a storm at Westfield Fountain Gate last week.
The co-author of the popular 4 Ingredients cookbooks showed audiences at the centre just how easy it was to cook a meal with only four ingredients.
Ms McCosker whipped up a chicken with creamy sun-dried tomato sauce dish during the cooking demonstration at the shopping centre last Friday at 11am.
She said that the 4 Ingredients cookbooks were the brainchild of herself and best friend Rachael Bermingham.
The women came up with the idea to produce a cookbook full of quick, cheap, no fuss meals after Ms McCosker’s second child was born.
“We wrote a cook book that we wanted to read,” she said.
“We wanted to include handy recipes that were quick and easy, great for people on the go and on a budget.”
She said something that started as a little dream a few years ago had grown into an international phenomenon.
The 4 Ingredients cookbooks have now gone on to sell more than three million copies.
On the back of the success of the book, the pair has also filmed a television series for the Lifestyle Channel and are about to launch their own cookware range.
They will be launching their new book in August.
During the demonstration, Ms McCosker told the crowd some secrets that helped her in the kitchen and gave them recipes for easy and delicious dinners such as her chicken and jarlsberg casserole and shepherd’s pie, made of course with just four simple ingredients.
Ms McCosker also handed around tasty samples from her cookbooks for fans during the book signing session.
Kylie Reddy, a mother of three from Narre Warren, said she had collected all of the 4 Ingredients cookbooks.
“I have between 30 and 40 cookbooks but I never put these ones away,” she said.
“In the last seven days I’ve cooked at least five meals from the cookbooks.”
