ROGER Hall is the new president of the Rotary Club of Narre Warren.
Outgoing president Tim Fisher handed over the president’s collar and pin to Mr Hall at the club’s 35th changeover dinner last Wednesday night at Ambrosia Cafe and Bar in Berwick.
This is the second time Mr Hall has been president at the club.
During the changeover dinner, Mr Fisher reflected on his past year at president.
“All of our members helped out with the projects throughout the year. It’s a credit to club,” he said.
“Some of the highlights include the Highland Gathering, the annual golf day, the Anzac Day breakfast, and the Bunnings Warehouse and community barbecues.”
Mr Fisher said he felt “privileged” to have been president of the club.
Mr Hall said the year ahead would be an “interesting one”.
“We’ve got lots planned. The theme is building communities and bridging continents,’ he said.
“And an important focus for the club will be rebuilding connections with the Narre Warren community.”
A $1000 cheque for the Cancer Council was also presented to Rotarian Rob Hastings and his wife Jo during the dinner, in memory of their daughter Katrina who died in December last year.
The new board consists of Mr Hall, Roger McGill, Tim Fisher, Lyn Pickering, Tim Carswell, Eddy Lange, Ian Pickering, Simon Hall, Rob Hastings and Steve Shutt.
