GIRLS at Hillcrest Christian College perfected their “less is more” make-up skills during a recent deportment workshop.
Deanne Nissen from Keeping Up Appearances ran a series of deportment workshops for Year 9 students.
The hands-on workshop focussed on the girls co-ordinating their wardrobes and learning how to conduct themselves in an interview.
Year 9 co-ordinator Caroline Comport said Ms Nissen demonstrated a variety of skills for the girls.
“She highlighted the need for good skin care by teaching the girls about the skin epidermis and the effects of sunburn as well as not removing make-up,” Ms Comport said.
“The girls were inspired by learning the techniques for ‘less is more’ make-up to achieve a day and night look as well as how to be more organised.”
The Year 9 boys also got involved, by taking part in a workshop on male skin care, hair care and personal hygiene.
Ms Comport said the students enjoyed the workshops.
“All they learnt was used to great effect when they had the recent Year 9 formal, where the girls looked very stylish and the boys dapper,” she said.
