VICTORIA Police has launched its largest recruitment campaign as it strives to attract 1700 more officers over the next five years.
The advertising campaign, which will cost $6 million over the next two years, aims to target people with the skills and qualities needed to become a police officer.
People from varying cultural backgrounds, women as well as men, and those with different professional and life experiences will be key focuses of the recruitment drive.
Chief Commissioner Simon Overland said this was the first time in nine years that Victoria Police had undertaken a recruitment advertising campaign.
He said he hoped the campaign would attract people with the drive, passion and dedication to serve the community in which they live.
