LADIES from the Country Women’s Association (CWA) of Berwick celebrated their organisation’s 77th birthday with a high tea at the Old Cheese Factory last week.
Twenty one of the club’s members dressed in their best attire for the event and enjoyed a high tea of club sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream on Thursday 15 July.
Susan Chan, a past president of the Berwick branch, said the club was always looking for new members.
The CWA of Berwick fundraises for projects, charities and organisations in the City of Casey.
“We collect money for the local fire brigades and also knit bed socks and rugs for the hospitals and nursing homes,” Mrs Chan said.
Ms Chan said the club had a wonderful sense of friendship.
