THIS year, Walk to Work Day will be held on 1 October but the campaign is really about adding more walking into the working day.
Businesses looking for ways to support staff and improve productivity can register as a Walking Workplace.
Individuals who pledge to put their feet first will be in the running to win holidays and shoes. Walk to Work Day helps workplaces to support their employees to include regular walking in their daily routine, leading to a generally healthier, more productive and creative workforce.

In partnership with Walk to Work Day, the Star News Group is offering a $250 Wotif.com prize to readers who send in the most creative short story (50 words or less) about their walk to work.
It can be the interesting route you take, the things you encounter on the way or the quirkiest or cleverest way you incorporate walking into your work day.
Entries must be sent via email to editor@starnewsgroup.com.au by Friday 24 September.
