FATHERS around Narre Warren South received a pleasant surprise at their doors in the lead up to Father’s Day.
Students at Heritage College, Narre Warren South, went out into the community to deliver Father’s Day cards and chocolates to dads in the area.
They went door knocking, wishing all dads who answered the door a Happy Father’s Day or left a card at the homes where fathers were at work.
Heritage College Community Relations officer Marizanne Stark said the children enjoyed the experience and got a boost when they were praised for their effort and friendliness.
Grade 6 teacher Nigel Eales said it was a rewarding concept.
“When the kids come back after an outing like that, they are filled with enthusiasm to do more for the people out there whom they don’t know,” he said.
