CLASSIC and vintage car enthusiasts are preparing their vehicles for the annual Melbourne to Maffra Rally this weekend.
The cars and bikes will make a stop at Akoonah Park in Berwick on Saturday from 8am to 9am, and then pass through Yarragon, Glengarry, Newry and Boisdale then on to the Motor Museum in Maffra.
The event, which is run by the Motor Museum in Maffra, has drawn a keen field of entrants, says rally co-ordinator Ian Kennedy.
“The rally is a great way for interested people to get out their classic vehicle, give it a good clean, take it for a run, and meet with other like-minded people for a great weekend of fun,” he said.
“We are travelling on all-sealed, off-highway roads. Our prior year participants have been wowed by the interesting and scenic routes chosen through Gippsland.”
The vehicles are not travelling in convoy.
