Rain hits matches

LOCAL cricket officials are stressing to all cricketers to consult their association’s revised fixtures after all matches were again called off because of the weather.
Dandenong and District Cricket Association, Victorian Premier Cricket and Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association all abandoned their matches last Saturday as the wet spring continued to wreak havoc on local cricket pitches.
Round one of the Dandenong and District Cricket Association was scheduled to finally get under way on Saturday but it has been pushed back to early January.
Victorian Premier side Casey-South Melbourne had its match against Melbourne cancelled and will play Hawthorn Monash-Uni this Saturday in a one-dayer.
While Endeavour Hillscoach John Hayes and his team has had to wait to play their first game this weekend, after the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association also called off earlier matches.
The ‘opening round’ is now scheduled for Sunday 13 February.
The VSDCA has confirmed this weekend’s round is scheduled to go ahead with Endeavour Hills to play a one-day match against Werribee.
