PLANTS and shrubs have gone missing from a Narre Warren property for the third time in a year.
Stewart Avenue resident Patrick, who asked not to use his last name, is warning neighbours to be cautious of plant thieves after shrubs went missing from his front yard recently.
He noticed the native shrubs and evergreen shrubs were missing last week, but was unsure when they were stolen. Patrick said plants were taken from his yard the same time last year and his neighbour also had four plants stolen within 12 months.
The evergreen shrubs cost about $15 each. “I am really annoyed,” he said.
“We are spending money on these plants to make our gardens look nice, and total strangers have taken them straight out of our garden. It’s not fair.” Patrick said he believed the plants were stolen by people who had a good understanding of the local area.
“I think it has to be someone who knows the area or who has gone looking for these plants.”
Patrick said he has reported the incident to the police and urged others who have had plants stolen to report to the police.
Anyone with information about this or any other incident can contact police on 9705 3111.
