SOCIAL butterflies rejoice with an excuse to get social next week.
Social Inclusion Week, from 20 November to 28 November, aims to bring together the local community and celebrate social diversity.
The City of Casey is hosting a free community picnic, All of Us in Casey, on Sunday 28 November that will feature live music from local band Zumba Gold, an African drumming group and a Korean band.
The picnic will be held in an effort to overcome isolation and loneliness in the community.
The Disability Leadership Awards will be presented at the event by founder of Social Inclusion Week and the Choir of Hard Knocks, Dr Jonathon Welch AM.
National street parties are also an integral part of Social Inclusion Week, designed to reconnect with friends, families and neighbours.
All of Us in Casey will be held at The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Old Homestead Road, Berwick, on Sunday 28 November between 1pm and 5pm.
To register your street party or find one near you visit www.socialinclusionweek.com.au
