GRADE 6 students from Maramba Primary School had a special tennis experience last week.
The students visited Melbourne Park as part of the Schools Tennis Experience.
“The program is an engaging way for children to learn about tennis while meeting new friends, having fun and staying healthy,” Tennis Australia general manager of community tennis Robin O’Neill said.
“Seeing all the players was a great experience,” said Maramba student Cody.
“It was one of the best days this year.”
The day included fun tennis activities including an MLC Tennis Hot Shots clinic, a tour of Melbourne Park, a question and answer session with tennis player Andrew Whittington and the chance to watch some of Australia’s best tennis players in action.
The Schools Tennis Experience coincided with December Showdown, a three-week tennis carnival celebrating Australia’s best junior players.
For taking part, the school will go into the draw to win an on-court MLC Tennis Hot Shots experience with some well-known names in the tennis circuit like Todd Woodbridge, John Fitzgerald and David Taylor.
