A man approached the Shell service station on the corner of Princes Highway and Berwick-Clyde Road in Berwick about 12.50am on 9 September.
He threatened the attendant with a large knife and demanded cash from the register.
Police describe the man as Caucasian, 35-40 years old, of solid build and unshaven.
He was wearing a black baseball cap and dark jacket at the time.
