YOU can’t keep running and hiding from your outstanding fines.
That’s the message from Casey traffic police and sheriffs who have come together to crack down on fines and traffic offences as part of Operation JOINER.
The joint operation was carried out in Berwick, Narre Warren and Cranbourne last week, with the sheriffs reeling in $37,449 worth of outstanding fines from 117 warrants and clamping two vehicles.
Casey Highway Patrol issued two defect notices and one infringement notice for a motorist who was driving while on a mobile phone.
Acting Sergeant Allen Inderwisch from Casey Highway Patrol said Operation JOINER would be carried out throughout the year at random dates.
“People need to be aware that when they get pulled up by the police there is every chance there may be a sheriff as well,” Acting Sgt Inderwisch said.
He encouraged people who thought they had outstanding fines to contact the sheriff’s department or Civic Compliance.
