WITH winter just around the corner, it’s time to grab the scarves, blankets and get your annual flu shot.
People most susceptible to the flu virus are those aged 65 and over, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and those working with the elderly or children.
The City of Casey is encouraging eligible people to make sure they are protected by contacting the Environmental Health Unit on 9705 5200 to book an appointment.
Parents are also reminded to attend regular immunisation sessions offered for babies and children to protect them against life-threatening illnesses such as pertussis, hepatitis B, polio, mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, and chickenpox.
Immunisation locations throughout Casey include Cranbourne, Endeavour Hills, Hampton Park, Narre Warren, Berwick, Doveton, Lynbrook and Pearcedale. For details, go to www.casey.vic.gov.au/immunisation.
A little jab’ll do you
