Bonanza for veterans

VETERANS in the City of Casey can receive practical support through the Victorian Veterans Council Grants Program 2011-2012.
The applications for the grants, which are now open, offer funds of up to $30,000 for projects in the veteran community, with preference given to lower costing projects.
Grants of over $30,000 may also be available, depending on the project and provided that it is discussed with the Victorian Veterans Council prior to applying.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan MP urged groups to apply for funding for projects.
“There is money available for projects, so I hope that local veterans groups do apply for funds,” Mr Donnellan said.
The grants program is managed by the Victorian Veterans Council, and distribution of funds occurs through the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund and the Victorian Veterans Fund.
The eligibility of an organisation to apply for funding is dependant upon the funding stream.
The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund is open to registered patriotic funds, and the Victorian Veterans Fund is open to any Victorian ex-service organisation, local council and not-for-profit community organisation provided that the projects are based in Victoria.
For full terms and conditions and more information regarding the Victorian Veterans Council Grants Program, call Luke Donnellan on 9706 0566 or the Grants Information Line on 1300 366 356.
