TWO new exciting exhibitions are on display at City of Casey Civic Centre in Narre Warren.
Our Wonderful World – The Good and the Bad by Joseph Bailouni and Emergence by Brooke McGowan-Grills will be on display until 1 December.
Emergence embraces familiar sites and objects with the art of photography.
Brooke completed her Certificate III in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft and is now working toward gaining her Diploma of Visual Arts and is considering furthering her study through a Degree in Fine Arts in 2012.
She develops her own ideas in her studio at home using various methods including sculpture, painting and drawing.
Our Wonderful World – The Good and the Bad is a mix of poignant war photographs and Australian landscapes, highlighting the diversity of the world.
Joseph started his journey as a photographer in Lebanon in 1985 and is now a tutor of a digital photography class for the U3A (University of the Third Age).
Joseph specialises in studio-based portrait photography for sporting clubs but also enjoys taking numerous photographs of the beautiful landscapes in Australia.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes encouraged residents to view the exhibition.
“The Civic Centre Art Space offers residents a chance to view a range of artworks by talented local and regional artists,” Cr Balmes said.
“I encourage the community to visit the Civic Centre Art Space to view, and be inspired by, the magnificent artworks on display.”
