A STRONG field took on the fourth leg of the Casey Cardinia TrailMix Dirty Triathlon Series – with line honours going to Tony Evans.
Second out of the water in the one-kilometre swim behind Jake Tobin, who couldn’t complete the race, Evans steamed to the finish in a time of 1.10.21 across the 12km ride and four km run around Lysterfield Lake.
Sam Bullock finished second in 1.18.46 and followed by Ray Johnson in third with a finishing time of 1.22.48. Also to complete the course were Andrew Susa, Simon Gronow and Narele Guglielmi.
In the mini event, Thomas Boatman lived up to his name, blitzing the 300m swim like he had an outboard motor strapped to his feet before storming home on the bike and run to touch base in a time of 42.23 minutes.
Joel Boatman also impressed, finishing in 1.05.35.The youngest competitors, Sienna Grove and Adele, were neck and neck throughout the whole course with Grove finishing a second ahead in a sprint to the line in 1.09.24.
With the first four rounds out of the way, the Casey Cardinia Triathlon Club will gear up for their club championships on Sunday 21 April, with the Sprint category extended to double-length for the ultimate decider.
First feet hit the water at 9am.
