TEXAS’S finest export Doug Bruce is coming down to Hallam tonight (Thursday) to woo the people of Casey.
Bruce will return to the Hallam Hotel to perform with his band The Tailgaters after receiving a huge industry nod in January, picking up a finalist nomination in the coveted Golden Guitar awards for Male Artist of the Year.
For a third year in a row Bruce is also up for an acknowledgement in the 2014 Country Music Channel Awards, this year for Male Oz artist and Best Oz Artist.
These nominations are based on music video plays and the awards are fan-voted.
Bruce’s latest single to radio, Clock Out at Five, is also giving him reason to celebrate, having just hit the top 10 in the Aussie Top 30 Country Tracks.
Texan-born Bruce is also set to make official the ‘adopted Aussie’ tag his fans have given him, after sitting his citizenship test and waiting on his induction ceremony to make it final.
“This country has only given me good things – my wife and sons, a singing career I’d never even dreamed of, wonderful friends and a sense that the impossible might just be possible!” Bruce said.
“This is home.”
Doug Bruce has started work on a new album this year.
Doug Bruce and The Tailgaters will perform at the Hallam Hotel on Thursday 27 February from 8.30pm. Tickets are $20 at the door.
