Australia Day a must have for Doveton

THE City of Casey has called on community members to host an Australia Day event in Doveton next year.
The call comes as the previous organisers were unable to continue in 2015.
Casey Council is now seeking expressions of interest from groups who could deliver a Doveton event on 26 January next year, catering for at least 500 people.
“Australia Day is the biggest day of celebration in the country and we want to ensure residents across Casey can join in the festivities close to home,” Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said.
“Council supports a range of community events across Casey on Australia Day to give residents the opportunity to celebrate everything that makes this country, and Casey, a vibrant and great place to live.
“The event in Doveton should demonstrate the significance of Australia Day and must be of cultural significance, free and open to all residents of Casey and able to cater for attendance numbers of a minimum of 500 people.”
Expressions of Interest will close at 5pm on Thursday 16 October.
For more information or to download an Expression of Interest form, visit council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/australiaday.
Application forms must be completed and returned to the Events Unit, City of Casey, PO Box 1000 Narre Warren, VIC, 3805, or emailed to events@casey.vic.gov.au.
