Nation’s foundation

Regarding the letter Cult Of Religion (News, 17 December 2015), I make the following comments.
Casey Council’s support for Special Religious Education in state schools is truly educational.
Casey parents and students, like all others, need a Bible-based faith.
Christianity should be taught in all our state schools as a main part of the curriculum.
Real education is about opening the mind to the purposes of God who created us.
It is the major reason why our nation has prospered so greatly.
When the first school opened in Australia in 1793, the Christian faith was taught, with the Bible as the main textbook.
This gave our people the most vital education we all need – a truly sound foundation for our progressive nation.
At least some of our councillors do believe this, and thank God for those who do.
Bruce Rayment,
Cranbourne East.
