Nightmare after nightclub fun

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

IN TWO separate instances, males walking home from the Empire nightclub in Narre Warren were attacked by three males of Islander descent.
Police cannot confirm if both instances were committed by the same group of three men.
The first bashing occurred in the early hours of Saturday 28 May, when a male victim was walking home alone on the north side of the Princes Highway toward Berwick.
As the male victim approached the Monash Freeway overpass, three males of Islander appearance punched him four times in the face and pushed him to the ground.
The offenders checked the victim’s pockets and asked him what he had on him.
The victim handed over his iPhone and bank cards, but the offenders did not steal anything.
Instead, the trio fled the scene and walked down Parkhill Drive in Berwick.
A recent incident involving three males of Islander descent left two boys sore after they made the wrong decision to hop into the car of strangers.
The two victims, aged 20, were walking home from the popular nightclub about 2am on Sunday 5 June when a car slowed down next to them and offered a lift.
The white sedan pulled up on Narre Warren North Road in Narre Warren, and as the two 20-year-olds entered the car, the offenders assaulted them.
Demands for wallets and phones were made and the men drove off toward Narre Warren.
After their possessions were taken, the victims were let out of the car on Belgrave Hallam Road in Narre Warren east.
Detective Senior Constable Matt Davey is investigating this drive-by assault. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call him at the Narre Warren police station.
