It’s the bright colours of the natural world that catch the eye of eight-year-old prize-winning photographer Misha Ravipati.
Misha, of Berwick, took out the overall best underage Rockley Flower Foto Awards at this year’s Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show for her sharp image of a ‘red hot poker’ flower.
The St Margaret’s School student has been snapping nature since she was six, recently graduating to a manual DSLR camera.
“I like the colours and the vividness of the flowers, and how you make them come out in a picture.”
She has also been learning her craft from her father and as part of the Focus Force Kids With Cameras team.
Phillip Williams of Focus Force said Misha had shown eagerness to search new subjects such as period-style architecture and to expand her folio.
“This young girl has a long way to go, and the world is waiting for her and her camera.”
