Excited students at Berwick Chase Primary School welcomed Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Narre Warren South Gary Maas to inspect the proposed site of their brand new $1.4 million outdoor sporting facility.

The development will see the construction of an oval, cricket practice nets, a pavilion, floodlighting, car parking and landscaping.

School principal said he is tremendously excited with the announcement.

“The project will enable our school to continue to provide a wide variety of physical activity for each and every one of our students.

“This is a huge win for our local community.”

Mr Maas said, “The school deserves the best facilities they can get, which is why the state government have committed to funding a brand new $1.4 million outdoor sporting facility for the school.

“Getting kids active is important but it was great to see them already preparing for the upcoming Premier’s Reading Challenge as well.”

Mr Andrews reminded students about the importance of reading and was thrilled to hear Berwick Chase Primary School will be participating in the upcoming Premier’s Reading Challenge.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge encourages children from an early age to become active readers, which is vital for their success at school.
