Major cannabis operation busted

A MAJOR $1 million cannabis operation has been raided in Narre Warren, leading to the arrest of two men.
On Monday 5 October, Casey Response and Tasking Team officers executed a warrant on a Vine Grove, Narre Warren, property.
Investigators uncovered more than 490 cannabis plants from the address with an estimated street value of $1 million.
Giang Dyong, a 27-year-old Keysborough man, and Viet Hoang, a 19-year-old Noble Park man, were charged with cultivating and trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis and theft of electricity.
Police spent the past two days dismantling “sophisticated” hydroponic set up, calling in a specialist biologist from Forensic Services, representatives from the power company and the Victoria Police Transport Branch.
Both men faced an out-of-sessions hearing and were remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
