Surgery after crossing altercation

A MAN was rushed to Dandenong Hospital after being punched during an altercation with a driver after he was almost struck by a car at a Fountain Gate pedestrian crossing.
The 20-year-old male from Beaconsfield sustained serious injuries to his face following a verbal exchange with the reckless driver.
The close call occurred at the southern end of the Westfield Fountain Gate car park, near Overland Drive, on Saturday 6 February, about 11.45am.
A group of four pedestrians had to push off the light coloured SUV to avoid being hit at speed.
The car stopped nearby and two males and female with long, straight blonde hair got out of the vehicle.
The victim was left having to undergo surgery to his face.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The male who struck the victim is described as in being in his early thirties, six foot tall, about 110 kilos, with short brown hair and stubble and of Caucasian appearance.
He was wearing a dark brown T-shirt and dark coloured shorts at the time.
Police were given partial registration of the car involved, 1SE, and urge anyone who witnessed the incident to call Narre Warren Police Station on 9705 3111.
