FIVE students from a Hallam dance school have recently kicked on to high honours.
Miranda Shami, Tiana Magnussen, Alycia Siomos, Missy Krilic and Celine Tricarico, all current and former dancers at Independent Dance Studios, have joined prestigious dance institutions this year.
Shami, of Cranbourne, has enrolled full-time in the Melbourne-based elite performing arts academy Patrick Studios Australia.
Magnussen, of Lynbrook, has joined the Victorian College of the Arts, and Siomos, of Pakenham, is enrolled with contemporary-dance studio Transit Dance.
Tricarico, of Berwick, is with Melbourne City Ballet and Fleming, of Kew, has joined the Conservatoire of Classical Ballet.
IDS artistic director and principal Nicole Jacobsson paid credit to the dedication and discipline of the dancers, many of whom had trained at the Hallam studios since its inception in 2009.
“They have spent hours and hours inside our beautiful studios perfecting their craft.
“I am truly lucky to train such beautiful and determined young people.
“We are extraordinarily proud of these gifted young dancers who have such bright futures ahead.”
