Literacy co-ordinator, leading teacher and children’s author Mark Carthew invited Leigh Hobbs to Berwick Lodge Primary School to help celebrate Literacy and Numeracy Week 2017.
Hobbs has recently returned from overseas where he has been in high demand for his vibrant author/illustrator talks, workshops and ambassador work as the current Australian Children’s Laureate.
“The students at Berwick Lodge Primary School loved drawing Old Tom, Mr Chicken and other characters inspired by Leigh’s illustrations and insights into drawing,” Mr Carthew said.
