Car impounded following speeding offences

A vehicle has been impounded and a driver set to receive a court summons following a series of alleged road offences on Good Friday 18 April.

Police say that Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers spotted a black BMW speeding south along Prince Highway at 164 km/h, more than 80 km/h over the posted speed limit.

Police say that the learner driver fled and that the car was intercepted following a chase, at the Reddy Service Station at Webb Street, Narre Warren.

Alongside dangerous speeds, the driver is alleged to have committed a number of other offences, including driving while suspended, failing to display L-plates, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

The vehicle was impounded for 30 days, with a cost of $1138.
