
A new government secondary school is set to open in Clyde North early next year, with its doors set to open on the first day of the first school term for 2026.
Construction for the Clyde Creek North Secondary School – its interim name -at 440 Heather Grove has begun, and once complete, it will be able to house 550 students.
Initially, the school will welcome Year Seven students for the first year, with subsequent grades following the year level after.
Essential facilities are set to be completed and ready for the first batch of students, with the remaining facilities expected to be finished by the second term.
The school will include a science building, a technology building, a library, an administration building, a learning neighbourhood, sports fields and hard courts.
Nick Hamer-Smith has also been named the new principal of the college, bringing 24 years of experience teaching in government schools and a background in special needs education.
Clyde Creek North Secondary School will be the second school to open in the Five Farms estate, following St Josephine Bakhita Primary School earlier in 2025.
