CASEY residents who volunteer their time to the community have been nominated for the 2011 Casey Volunteer Awards.
City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes said the City of Casey was delighted to acknowledge the valuable contribution that volunteers made to the Casey community.
“The selfless contribution of volunteers to a variety of local charities, sporting clubs and multicultural and environmental groups, together with the support given to others in times of need, cannot be calculated,” Cr Balmes said.
“I am very pleased that so many of the dedicated and selfless volunteers in Casey have been nominated and will be recognised and rewarded for their efforts.”
The winners of the 2011 Casey Volunteers Awards will be announced at a special awards ceremony tomorrow (Friday, 13 May).
The volunteer committees that organised the five Australia Day events held throughout the municipality on Australia Day this year will also be acknowledged during the event.
