TWO outstanding young men were joint winners of the Casey Young Volunteer Award.
During his VCE studies, Paul Adcock volunteered each week for two and a half years with ‘School Stuff’.
School Stuff is a homework help program run by Youthlinx and the Hampton Park Youth Information Centre for young people in Grades 5, 6 and 7.
Kyle Calder, 10, accompanies his grandfather to various community events.
He has volunteered for several things including removing fence posts and stacking timber at Hampton Park Community Gardens, helping with registrations at the 2010 and 2011 Clean Up Australia Day events, providing volunteers with refreshments and directing traffic at the 2010 and 2011 Australia Day celebrations.
He has also helped in cleaning up rubbish at the Hampton Park Networking Group Community Festival, Hampton Park Fashion Show and Twilight Market and collecting signatures for petitions at the 2009 Walk for Hallam Road.
