Winning ways for Bray on an ideal day at Corinella

The greens were buzzing at Corinella Bowls Club as 52 members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group gathered for another round of friendly competition.

Hosts Bev and John gave the group a warm welcome, while Vern expertly organised the day’s teams.

After the teams were set, everyone quickly moved out onto the green, which was, as usual, in excellent condition.

The air was filled with laughter and friendly chatter, a testament to the fun and great bowling happening across all the rinks.

A few ‘wrong bias’ bowls added to the fun and, more importantly, to the donations for the Royal Children’s Hospital tin.

As the day wrapped up, we celebrated our winners; this week’s winners on a score of 34 being David Prosser (Lead), Enid Johnston (2nd), Laurie Bell (3rd) and Steve Bray (Skip).

Runners-Up on a score of 28 were Neil Andreatta (3rd), Vern Elliott (Skip), Bill Williams (2nd) and Tony Morris (Lead).

Best One Game winners on a score of 19 were Mark Hanrahan (Skip), Amanda Bozelle (3rd) and Jim Nunan (Lead).

A big thank you goes out to Steve and Phil for their hard work behind the bar, and to everyone who pitched in to clean the kitchen and hall at the end of the day—your help is always appreciated!

Get ready to bowl again this week when we meet at San Remo to compete for ‘Team of the Week’.

Please be on-site by 10am sharp to allow enough time to organise the teams.

Since our numbers are consistently near capacity, we must strictly enforce the 10am cut-off time.

Until then, have fun and stay safe!

-Laurie Bell-
