CASEY Partners Accounting Firm in Berwick held its 17th annual Make-A-Wish Charity Golf Day last week, raising more than $30,000.
Ninety golfers enjoyed the sunshine and braved the cold at the Keysborough Golf Course, with Andrew McKenzie Smith, Jon Balantyne, Andrew Kloprogge and John Gahan going home winners.
The golfers were treated to refreshments and a barbecue around the course as they competed against each other to raise funds for the foundation, all in the name of charity.
Comedian Bob Franklin entertained the 100 guests who attended the luncheon, before the presentation of the prizes and raffles.
The funds raised have been used by the Casey-Cardinia branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant children with life-threatening illnesses a ‘wish’.
Around $400,000 has been raised in total for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by the accounting firm.
Joy Watkins is, president of the Casey-Cardinia branch of the foundation, said she was touched by the generosity and commitment from Casey Partners Accounting Firm.
“We greatly appreciate thefantastic long-term support of Casey Partners through their golf days. Their generous contributions have enabled us to grant many wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions,” she said.
“As volunteers we are fortunate enough to see the difference that these donations can make by bringing happiness and hope to our wish children and their families.”
Major sponsors for the golfing charity event included the Active Display Group, Mercedes Benz Berwick, Andrew Gray and Associates and New World Honda.
