Fun learning for safety

CHILDREN in Casey will be offered a fun and education program during the winter school holidays.
The Casey Safety Village is offering road and fire safety education in fun, educational and interactive environment during the school holidays.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes said the program was aimed at increasing bicycle, road and fire safety awareness for children up to 12 years of age.
Activities at the Casey Safety Village include walking or riding around a smaller version of Victorian roads and streets, and experiencing a variety of different road and traffic conditions.
Children can bring their own bicycles and helmet or use equipment available on site.
There will be fire safety sessions at the CFA Learning Centre on site, playing “Caseyville” the City of Casey’s community safety game, and enjoying the time out area where children and carers can relax, have a snack and talk about their experiences.
The Casey Safety Village will be open for three school holiday sessions – from 10am to 2pm on 5, 6 and 7 July – at the Casey Safety Village, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East. It is free for children 12 and under and for adults and non-riders.
Bookings are essential and close on 27 June. For details contact City of Casey customer service on 9705 5200 or alternatively visit the council’s website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/safetyvillage
