Council unveils more than $1.5 million upgrade to Narre Warren Pavilion

The Casey Council in partnership with the State Government, has unveiled a new $1,585,613 pavilion at Strathaird Reserve.

Through the local community sport and recreation projects program, the State provided $1.5 million to the council, while the council contributed $85,613 to the project.

The existing pavilion is home to numerous sport clubs, including a cricket, netball and football club.

It has now been extended and upgraded to include female-friendly amenities, a new servery and a covered spectator area.

A dedicated space for social gatherings has also been added, equipped for club functions, team dinners and fundraising events.

Joined by MP Gary Maas and Cr Kim Ross, City of Casey’s Mayor Stefan Koomen said that “The new pavilion will be a place to gather, celebrate and build community through sport”.

“Council is proud to support projects like this one that not only improve facilities but also strengthen community connections and encourage more people to get active, get involved and feel part of something bigger,” he said.

“Thanks to all of the clubs for their patience throughout the construction period and congratulations to everyone involved in the project.”
