Lions aim to snap losing streak against marching Maroons

Round five of the Casey Cardinia Cricket Association (CCCA) will now be played as one-dayers after the intervention of rain last week.

Three consecutive losses has seen Pakenham drift down to seventh with last week’s defeat to Clyde especially frustrating.

The Lions have really struggled with the bat, posting just one score above 200 for the season as the top order has been unable to find consistent form.

Jackson Luka and skipper Jack Anning will look to Saturday’s match against Upper Beaconsfield to build some confidence and get their seasons going in the scoring front.

Kooweerup has dominated one-day cricket but will have to be cautious when Cardinia comes to town.

The Bulls have won three on the trot off the back of potentially the best bowling performance of the season.

Matt Welsh and Lachlan Volpe both took seven-fa’s in the win over Upper Beaconsfield, and Cardinia will have its number-one priority set to breaking the opening partnership between Chris Bright and Luke McMaster.

Tooradin heads to Officer to face the winless Bullants in a matchup that should favour the Seagulls.

Tooradin is on fire with both the bat and ball and Officer has struggled mightily, particularly at the crease.

Clyde looks to make it two in a row in a trip to Devon Meadows with skipper Trevor Bauer in superstar form.

The Cougars showed what they are capable of with an impressive result with the bat and ball against Pakenham in round four.

Tips: Upper Beaconsfield v PAKENHAM, Devon Meadows v CLYDE, Kooweerup v CARDINIA, Officer v TOORADIN.
