AN ELDERLY man was hit by a car and thrown from his motorised scooter in Hampton Park last week.
About 9.15am on Thursday, the man was crossing the street near the corner of Pound and Hallam roads when he was hit by the car.
He was thrown from the scooter and knocked unconscious, intensive care paramedic Kiran Ablett said.
“The 78-year-old suffered some suspected lower leg fractures, a suspected fractured pelvis and we believe he may have a head injury,” Mr Ablett said.
“Given the potential for a spinal injury, we fitted the man with a neck brace. We then put a drip in his arm and gave him some fluids to stabilise his blood pressure and pain relief to help with his pain.”
The man was taken to The Alfred hospital in stable condition.
