Eddie McGillivray finds form as Warragul in control

An Eddie McGillivray century guided Warragul into a position of command in its clash with Buln Buln on Saturday.

The star number-four bat scored an unbeaten 133 off 158 balls after three knocks to start the season which yielded just 33 runs.

The Gulls have been excited about the prospect of the coach finding form after banking two early wins with minimal contribution from him, and it clicked on Saturday.

The visitors finished on 4/251, with Greg Interlandi and Matthew Wakefield both part of important partnerships in excess of 80 runs alongside McGillivray.

Elsewhere, Yarragon scored 9/200 against Drouin’s Second XI and skipper Jack Barnes scored an unbeaten 83 for Western Park’s Second XI to guide them to 9/258 over Hallora’s Second XI.

Neerim is well-positioned against Western Park’s Third XI, with opening bowler Matthew Kelliher taking 4/40 in a workmanlike 23-over spell to help bowl the hosts out for 153, with Neerim 0/13 in response.

An even bowling performance has helped Jindivick into a steady position against Ellinbank, bowling the hosts out for 187 and sitting 0/10 in response.
