Names sought for advisory committee

NOMINATIONS are open for community representatives to be part of a committee for the Old Cheese Factory.
The Old Cheese Factory, located in Berwick, is a local treasure and has been part of the community since the 1860s, City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes said.
Cr Balmes encouraged people who live or work within the City of Casey and have an interest in the future of the Old Cheese Factory to nominate to be part of the advisory committee.
Members of the Old Cheese Factory User Group Advisory Committee will facilitate communication between regular user groups, community representatives, council officers and council in matters related to the Old Cheese Factory site.
The committee will also provide feedback to Casey Council in the key areas of heritage, arts and culture, tourism and open space and provide support to the Old Cheese Factory Master Plan Project Steering Committee with the ongoing development and implementation of the Master Plan site.
It will be chaired by a City of Casey councillor, comprise representatives from regular user groups at the site and up to two community representatives.
The group will meet on a quarterly basis with the term of appointment beginning in October for a two-year period. Nomination forms and a copy of the Terms of Reference can be obtained from councils website at www.casey.vic.gov.au/theoldcheesefactory or by contacting the Old Cheese Factory co-ordinator on 9702 1919.
