Museum musical with a twist

STUDENTS at James Cook Primary School were busy singing and dancing in preparation for their musical at the Drum Theatre yesterday (Wednesday).
The musical at James Cook is an annual event and this year the musical, Museum Meltdown, was about an excursion to the wax museum-with a twist.
Principal Kathy Sharp said each year level featured a different exhibit that came to life.
The Preps took the audience to the greatest circus show on earth, Year 1 and 2 students went on a maritime and atone age adventure and Year 3 and 4 students danced up a storm with Egyptians and in the Wild Wild West. The Year 5 and 6 students went on a trip to Hollywood and rocked the night away.
“At James Cook Primary School, performing arts is only one of many curriculum areas provided for students in addition to the foundation of literacy and numeracy,” Ms Sharp said.
“This gives students the opportunity to build upon their previous experiences and develop their understanding and talents in different areas so that they can achieve a range of successes.
“The positive attitude and enthusiasm displayed by the students in preparation for the musical is sure to make it a night to remember,” she said.
