NUDE Food Day was celebrated at Berwick Lodge Primary School on 19 October.
This was the first year Berwick Lodge Primary School students from Prep to Grade 6 participated in the national event.
Grade 2 teacher Meenu Bhuvan said students were encouraged to pack healthy nutritious meals without the use of any disposable packaging that contributes to landfill.
Students also participated in a number of activities, including a walk around the school where they held posters encouraging people to eat ‘nude food’.
Ms Bhuvan said students enjoyed the event.
“They were very excited to make their own posters to promote Nude Food and enjoyed walking with their posters to raise awareness and build a connection between healthy lifestyle and a healthy planet,” Ms Bhuvan said.
“It was an opportunity to educate children of all ages to make food choices that protect their health and wellbeing, and to promote simple ways they can help look after our environment.”
