Narre wins a thriller

NARRE Warren’s Division Three side travelled to Pakenham on Saturday and produced a great performance by knocking off the top side at their home rink.
Play looked doubtful initially due to heavy overnight rain and morning showers but play eventually got under way. It was a close game all day and the result was in the balance until the last end with Narre Warren winning by five shots in a thriller.
L. Klarica, A. Kidd, K. Mark and skipper I. Brotherton won 27/11. R. Hoare, G. Cadman, M. Fitt and skipper J. Parker won 20/14. S. Robinson, S. Belocher, G. Manifold and skipper R. Lane lost 11/27. W. Harringsma, P. Castricum, P. O’Day and skipper B. Brewster lost 20/21.

@BT Sub Sport News:TUESDAY

Narre Warren travelled to Brighton and was outclassed on the indoor carpet by a very strong side. The surface was foreign to the Narre bowlers and it really does border on not being in the spirit of the way lawn bowls should be played. R. Rasmussen, W. Harringsma, M. Horton and skipper S. Bell lost 15/22. P. Uren, S. Lapham, R. Lane and skipper J. Naughton lost 10/27. T. Henneman, R. Pigdon, N. Pugh and skipper E. Gibb lost 9/45.
