LENGTHY times spent commuting is not only a waste of time, but has a negative impact on health, the City of Casey’s Paul Hamilton said.
It is a case of chain reaction for many workers, who get home exhausted and possibly temperamental from being stuck in traffic.
They would have no time to exercise and no time to cook something healthy, which would direct them towards fast food.
“They would also suffer from social isolation as they wouldn’t have the time to participate in the community,” Mr Hamilton said.
“That would have impacts on the community and their own social and mental wellbeing.”
