Doves set sights on top run maker

By Gavin Staindl
FORMER Australian test player Brad Hodge is believed to have agreed to play for local Dandenong and District Cricket Association club Doveton in next week’s Twenty20 against Buckley Ridges.
Doveton captain Ryan Hendy said he was confident that Victoria’s all-time leading run scorer will play a one-off match for the green and black on Tuesday night at Park Oval.
Hodge is believed to have been asked to join Doveton by former team-mate and good friend Jason Arnberger, who is a middle-order batsman at the Doves.
Arnberger and Hodge played together at Victoria during the early 2000s and Hodge was best man at Arnberger’s wedding.
Hendy said while the agreement was “not 100 per cent”, he confirmed he was confident of it going ahead.
